{"id":587,"date":"2009-10-23T17:29:30","date_gmt":"2009-10-24T00:29:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.emilymorganti.com\/blog\/?p=587"},"modified":"2013-02-01T20:57:11","modified_gmt":"2013-02-02T03:57:11","slug":"a-couple-of-half-scale-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.emilymorganti.com\/blog\/?p=587","title":{"rendered":"A couple of half scale projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been woefully neglectful of my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.emilymorganti.com\/blog\/?tag=michaels-puzzle-house\" target=\"new\">puzzle house<\/a> these past few weeks (those shingles took a lot out of me!), but I do have a couple of smaller half scale projects to show off.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blog\/images\/2009\/chairs1.jpg\" style=\"margin-top:15px; margin-bottom:15px\"><\/p>\n<p>I scratch built these ladderback chairs using 2-inch Houseworks spindles and strip wood. I got the idea for the woven seats from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0762413255?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=thedenofslack-20&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=390957&#038;creativeASIN=0762413255\" target=\"new\">Dollhouse Style by Kath Dalmeny<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=thedenofslack-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=0762413255\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" \/>. I&#8217;m happy with how they turned out and am planning to write a tutorial in the near future showing how to make them yourself, so stay tuned for that.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blog\/images\/2009\/carpet1.jpg\" style=\"margin-top:15px; margin-bottom:15px\"><\/p>\n<p>Last night I finished up a miniature carpet that I have been stitching for the past few months. The pattern is freely available from <a href=\"http:\/\/dancingvioletdesigns3.homestead.com\/Miniatures.html\" target=\"new\">Dancing Violet Needlework Designs<\/a>. They recommend stitching it on 18-count fabric but I wanted it a bit smaller so I used 35-count. (Okay, that makes it 50% smaller.) The finished size is approximately 3 inches by 4.25 inches, which would be 6 feet by 8.5 feet in a half scale house.
